The belt weigh feeder is a production batching equipment that integrates material conveyance by belt conveyor, continuous weighing by dynamic electronic belt scale, and automation control by industrial PLC. It is used for the conveyance and batching of solid bulk materials. 

It can execute tasks based on predetermined recipe parameters, automatically adjust the belt speed to make the material flow equal to the set value, thereby completing the quantitative batching during the conveyance process. Belt weigh feeders are widely used in various industrial fields, playing a significant role in improving enterprise efficiency, reducing labor costs, and enhancing management levels.

 

Recently, Guonuo Technology completed the installation and commissioning of a project involving eight belt weigh feeders. The client is an intermediary who had previously collaborated with Guonuo on an electronic belt scale project. Due to positive feedback from the client regarding the product's quality, stability, and precision, they chose to collaborate with the company again on the belt weigh feeder project.

To avoid disrupting the client's on-site production, Guonuo arranged for the nearest after-sales engineer to provide on-site guidance for the installation and commissioning. The after-sales team promptly understood the on-site epidemic prevention policies, reasonably arranged travel schedules, and communicated with the client before arriving at the site. Prior to arrival, they confirmed the on-site conditions, ensured they met the service requirements, and immediately checked for any missing or damaged materials. Once preparations were complete, they promptly proceeded with the installation and commissioning.

 

After communicating with the on-site supervisor about the installation details and coordinating personnel, the after-sales engineer quickly installed the mechanical components of the belt weigh feeders, including the feeder bodies, control cabinets, instruments, etc. They also completed the wiring and other connections for these components. Following installation, a trial run was conducted on one of the production lines, during which several issues were identified:

 

(1) On one production line, the distance between the belt weigh feeder and the control cabinet was too far, causing communication issues between the weighing sensor and the instrument. The after-sales engineer resolved this by replacing the junction box with a display unit board, which facilitated better debugging.

 

(2) The client is an iron ore enterprise. During the commissioning of the belt weigh feeder, it was found that the measurement accuracy of the main shaft equipment deviated, with a chain code calibration coefficient of 1.059. As on-site physical calibration was not feasible, the Guonuo after-sales engineer comprehensively adjusted the overall production capacity on-site, resulting in an adjusted coefficient of 1.006. After communicating with the site and observing for two days, stability was achieved.

 

(3) The on-site belt weigh feeder failed to start when overloaded. Upon inspection, it was found that the frequency converter was not compatible with the motor power. After replacement, it resumed normal operation.

 

(4) The on-site No. 1 and No. 2 belt weigh feeders were located close to each other and shared a control cabinet. The speed sensors were interfered with, causing the No. 2 feeder's speed sensor to show a slight speed when the No. 1 feeder was started. After replacing the unit boards of both feeders, they operated normally, and the speed sensors functioned correctly.

 

The belt weigh feeder is a comprehensive technical equipment, and its installation and commissioning process is also a complex task, closely related to on-site application conditions and the professionalism of the installation and commissioning personnel. Only experienced and skilled personnel can quickly troubleshoot on-site issues and ensure the correct and reasonable installation of the feeder. The Guonuo after-sales engineers have extensive practical project experience. Although some issues were inevitable, they were ultimately resolved properly. The equipment has undergone actual operation and met the client's requirements, earning their praise.
