An electronic belt scale is a dynamic weighing device used on belt conveyors to automatically and continuously weigh conveyed materials. Its characteristic of efficient weighing without the need to halt conveyor operation makes it indispensable in industries such as building materials, steel, cement, and mining for the transportation of bulk materials.

Additionally, with the development and widespread application of technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), network information, computers, and industrial automation control, belt scales have been integrated with these technologies, endowing them with more functions. Besides automatic weighing, they can also be used for production process control and trade settlement.

Meanwhile, there is an increasing demand for higher accuracy and stability in electronic belt scales, as well as for them to provide more functions and services for production management and control.

 

Based on years of experience in industrial dynamic measurement and considering industry requirements, Guonuo has designed and manufactured multi-idler fully suspended belt scales.

These scales feature upgraded design structures and are equipped with high-performance sensors and instruments, achieving breakthroughs in the practical accuracy and stability of belt scales, with enriched functions that meet high-precision application requirements for production monitoring, process optimization, trade settlement, and internal accounting.

ICS-14A Belt Scale

 

The Guonuo multi-idler fully suspended belt scale comes in two forms: the ICS-14 belt scale and the multi-idler combined belt scale. The ICS-14 belt scale features a multi-idler structure with a crossbeam, where four weighing sensors are directly suspended from the crossbeam.

It is available in two types, A and B. The ICS-14A belt scale has four sets of idlers, while the ICS-14B has three sets. It can achieve an accuracy level of ±0.25%.

However, it has relatively high requirements for the belt conveyor and application environment, with the conveyor inclination angle needing to be within 6°.

 

The multi-idler combined belt scale is a newly developed structural type in recent years. It uses single-idler direct weighing belt scales as weighing units, with multiple units combined to form a weighing platform.

Its structure is simpler, without levers, fulcrums, crossbeams, or movable parts. It is composed of 2 to 8 sets of four-idler fully suspended scale frames arranged in a row.

The unit modules are independent of each other, lighter in weight, and can eliminate the influence of the belt on measurement. The belt scale has a good response characteristic curve and has lower requirements for installation space and belt conveyor inclination angle, which can be up to 20°.

 

From the comparison of the two types of multi-idler fully suspended belt scales, it can be seen that both have long weighing areas and are resistant to eccentric loading, achieving high accuracy.

However, the multi-idler combined belt scale has superior overall performance and stronger adaptability compared to the ICS-14 belt scale.

In actual application cases by Guonuo, the ICS-14A belt scale showed an instrument display value of 1.78t, a calibration value of 1.75t, and a zero point value of 4.24756, while the multi-idler combined belt scale achieved even better results. It is suitable for occasions with large conveyor inclination angles, limited installation space, and high-precision requirements.

However, achieving high accuracy and maintaining precision in belt scales are also closely related to other components. Guonuo has equipped its belt scales with cantilever beam sealed enclosures, digital high-precision weighing sensors with good automatic centering and strong anti-interference capabilities, and double-wheel rubber-coated speed sensors that provide accurate speed measurement without jumping.

The intelligent instrument features fast data processing speed, along with automatic diagnosis, monitoring, and self-calibration functions, improving the overall stability of the belt scale.

 

In addition to enhancing measurement capabilities, the industry also has higher requirements for the production management and control functions of belt scales. Guonuo has integrated other application technologies to enrich the functions of belt scales.

For example, the instrument has information interfaces that enable real-time sharing of measurement data for production monitoring. By integrating technologies like IoT, a measurement cloud platform can be configured to achieve remote control, monitoring, and analysis of measurement equipment.

Furthermore, by integrating PLC automatic control technology, quantitative control functions can be realized, and combined with software systems, production batching and quantitative loading can be achieved.

 

The multi-idler fully suspended belt scale has a longer weighing area and stronger resistance to environmental, conveyor, and self-factor influences on measurement, achieving breakthroughs in measurement accuracy and stability. Additionally, by integrating more technologies, the application scope of belt scales has been expanded.
