Factors Affecting the Metering and Feeding Accuracy of Quantitative Feeders

Quantitative feeders are devices designed for continuous weight measurement and controlled feeding. Their main function is to automatically adjust the actual feeding rate to match the set feeding rate, ensuring a constant flow of bulk materials. They achieve quantitative feeding, automatic metering, and accumulation functionalities.

Quantitative feeders are widely used in cement, building materials, metallurgy, mining, chemicals, fertilizers, grain, and other industries due to their ability to enhance production efficiency and quality. The accuracy of these feeders plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and improving production efficiency. Maintaining the metering and feeding accuracy of quantitative feeders is essential for product quality. This accuracy depends both on the feeder's inherent quality and on the precise installation of its mechanical components. Therefore, the installation process of quantitative feeders must be meticulous and strictly controlled.

However, during installation, issues such as inaccurate installation dimensions and incorrect installation methods for components can significantly impact the feeder's actual accuracy. Key factors include the installation of the weighing platform's supporting rollers, the installation of load cells, the installation of automatic tensioning and alignment devices, and the installation of speed sensors. Here's a brief analysis of these factors:

1. Installation Errors of Weighing Platform Supporting Rollers: If the actual installation position of the supporting rollers deviates from the design dimensions, the true length of the weighing platform will differ from the design value. This discrepancy will lead to errors between the unit length belt material load value calculated by the instrument using the design value and the actual load value, resulting in inaccuracies between the instrument's feeding rate and the true feeding rate.

2. Installation Errors of Load Cells: Load cells directly affect instantaneous flow rates. Even minor errors in the installation position of load cells can cause errors in the instantaneous feeding rate. The farther the actual installation position is from the intended position, the greater the relative error becomes.

3. Installation of Automatic Tensioning and Alignment Devices: These devices prevent belt misalignment, automatically adjust tension, and maintain a constant belt tension. This ensures the stability of the belt's tare weight, thereby ensuring the stability of the quantitative feeder's accuracy. Improper installation of the automatic tensioning device can lead to frequent belt misalignment, changes in belt tension, and variations in the feeder's tare weight. This results in a mismatch between the actual zero point value and the instrument-recorded zero point value, compromising material metering accuracy.

4. Installation of Speed Sensors: The instantaneous flow rate of a quantitative feeder is calculated by multiplying the belt load value by the speed value. Therefore, accurate speed measurement is essential for ensuring accurate instantaneous flow and metering. If the speed sensor is too far from the inductive body, pulses may be lost during motor operation, reducing the pulse frequency detected by the instrument and affecting metering accuracy. If the speed sensor is too close to the inductive body, it may collide with mechanical components, causing damage.

These are analyses of the main installation errors of quantitative feeder components. Other factors, such as improper installation of the retaining plate in feeders with retaining plates, can also affect accuracy. In summary, every component of a quantitative feeder, from the main body to each individual part, must be installed correctly and specifically to ensure normal operation and precise metering.

When users are unable to install the equipment themselves or encounter installation issues, it is best to arrange for professional technical engineers to handle the installation. In addition to the mechanical components, they will also comprehensively consider the on-site environment. Guonuo Technology's quantitative feeders come with a team of experienced technical engineers responsible for after-sales installation, commissioning, and maintenance to ensure correct installation and address customer concerns.
