Quantitative feeders are devices that integrate weighing and feeding control, often used to control the input material quantity in production lines. The accuracy of feeding directly affects the precision of ingredient proportions, while the stability of feeding directly impacts the continuity of production. In other words, the precision and stability of feeders directly influence the quality and quantity of production. To ensure the stability and accuracy of quantitative feeders, apart from the inherent performance of the feeders themselves, the specifications for their use and maintenance in practical applications are equally important. Proper use and maintenance can ensure the long-term stability of the equipment during operation.
1. Maintenance Precautions for the Mechanical Parts of Quantitative Feeders
· Ensure good lubrication of rollers and idlers.
· Maintain the running track of the belt to prevent it from running off.
· Keep the belt clean and promptly remove any spilled material.
· Ensure the tensioning device operates normally.
· Prevent the belt from being scratched or cracked.
Maintaining belt cleanliness, while seemingly simple, is crucial as it ensures that the feeder only weighs the intended material, not any material adhered to the belt. Additionally, if leaked material accumulates or gets stuck between the belt and idlers or sensors, it can severely affect measurement accuracy. To keep the belt clean, an automatic belt cleaning device can be installed.
2. Maintenance Precautions for the Electrical Parts of Quantitative Feeders
· When welding is necessary for routine maintenance on the scale body, ensure that the welding current does not pass through the feeder's weighing or speed sensors to avoid damage.
· When replacing the belt, be cautious to lift the sensor's protective bracket to prevent overload damage to the sensor.
· Long-term belt operation can cause changes in tension; regular calibration and tare adjustments should be performed.
3. Precautions Before Calibration
· Check if the scale body is clean, if there is material stuck to the belt, if the belt tension is constant and appropriate, if the belt is running off, if there is material stuck between the belt and idlers or weighing sensors, and if the rollers and each idler are flexible and operating normally. The electrical parts should be inspected for normal sensor operation.
· If any issues are found, they must be resolved promptly. Calibration should not be performed with existing issues.
4. Routine Maintenance Contents for Quantitative Feeders
· For the scale frame, perform regular cleaning, check for any stuck material, inspect if the fastening bolts are loose, and ensure idlers rotate freely.
· The belt, rollers, and idlers are prone to material accumulation. Adjust the spacing between the outer cleaner's rubber plate and the belt based on the actual situation to eliminate the impact of accumulated material on measurement accuracy.
· Avoid arbitrarily moving or stepping on the scale body support to prevent damage to the weighing sensor due to overloading.
· Ensure that the conveying and weighing idlers rotate flexibly without any stagnation. The weighing idlers should not friction with the scale body or belt, as this can affect weighing accuracy and even damage the motor or reducer.
· If electric welding is required on the scale body, the quantitative feeder controller must be powered off. Maintenance personnel should connect the grounding wire close to the welding area to prevent current from passing through the weighing sensor and causing damage.
· If changing materials or altering the feeding rate range is necessary, consider the specific circumstances and, ideally, consult with the original manufacturer for confirmation. The selection and design of quantitative feeders are based on user needs, including capacity and material characteristics. If changes are necessary, consider feasibility first and avoid making changes lightly. When material changes are unavoidable and existing components cannot meet the requirements, consider replacing the components.
