In industries such as mining, cement, and building materials, it is essential to weigh and measure bulk loose materials, and to complete quantitative feeding according to specified ratios, which necessitates the use of metering feeding devices.

To accommodate different working conditions, material characteristics, and production environments, metering feeding devices come in various types: From the perspective of material supply continuity, they can be classified as intermittent or continuous feeders; based on the working principle of the feeder, they can be categorized as loss-in-weight feeders and gain-in-weight feeders; considering the characteristics of the supplied materials, they can be divided into feeders for powder and granular materials; and from the perspective of structural design, there are belt feeders and screw feeders.

Applications of Metering Feeding Devices

 

Different types of metering feeding devices are suitable for varying situations, with significant differences in the production environments, material characteristics, and features they can accommodate.

 

- Belt Metering Feeding Device: This type of device uses a belt to convey materials, with a dynamic weighing module installed beneath the belt. It can handle various types of loose solid materials, including lumpy, granular, and powdery substances such as cement, stones, sand, coal, and various non-coal ores.

However, it is not suitable for materials with high adhesiveness, which may stick to the belt during conveyance, affecting weighing accuracy and operational efficiency. Additionally, materials with low density and a tendency to generate dust may cause environmental pollution and material waste during conveyance.

Materials with high moisture content may flow during conveyance, impacting metering accuracy. In summary, belt metering feeding devices are suitable for large-volume, high-production solid loose materials.

 

- Screw Metering Feeding Device: This device utilizes a sealed screw tube to convey materials, with screw blades pushing the materials forward. It can also accommodate various types of loose materials, but materials that are not suitable for belt metering feeding devices, such as those that are prone to dust generation, corrosive, or hazardous, can be conveyed using screw metering feeding devices, which seal the materials within the screw tube to protect their characteristics and prevent leakage.

Different metering feeding devices share some common features and benefits:

 

1. High-precision weight sensors, typically digital sensors with strong anti-interference capabilities and high metering accuracy.

2. High linearity in the material conveyance section, with the drive section achieving high resolution.

3. High device automation, compatible with PLC automation control to meet automated production requirements.

4. High feeding accuracy of the system, utilizing advanced metering, feeding, and control systems to achieve and maintain high precision.

5. Simple device operation, requiring only basic operations such as parameter setting, formula setting, and start/stop by operators.

6. Strong maintainability, with advanced control systems facilitating easy system fault diagnosis and shortening troubleshooting times.

7. Powerful functionality, enabling complex formula management, order management, historical data management, recording and storing production data and equipment operation data, remote real-time data viewing, and automatic generation of production reports.

8. Customizability according to production processes, enhancing practicality and applicability.

 

Differences include:

 

1. Belt metering feeding devices have a larger conveyance capacity and are suitable for higher production volumes; screw metering feeding devices have a relatively smaller conveyance range.

2. Screw metering feeding devices feature a sealed design and stainless-steel material, optimizing on-site working conditions and preventing material leakage; belt metering feeding devices can be equipped with baffles for materials with high fluidity.

3. Screw metering feeding devices come in single-tube and double-tube configurations. The single-tube design completes material steady-flow conveyance and weighing metering within a single screw tube, while the double-tube design has the upper layer for material steady-flow conveyance and the lower layer for weighing metering. The former has a simpler structure and is suitable for smaller production spaces, while the latter offers advantages in metering accuracy and stability.

 

Regarding the quotation of metering feeding devices, it is determined by specific production processes, environments, and other factors. The detailed production requirements dictate the structural type, center distance, range, motor power, belt width, screw tube diameter, etc., of the metering feeding device, which in turn determines its price. It is difficult to guarantee that the equipment will be suitable for actual production without specific requirements, let alone provide an accurate price.
